On November 1, Rotarian Tracy Ippolite talked to us about Medicare.  She is licensed, so she can look at all of the different plans available and provide advice about which plan works best.  She explained the different Parts of Medicare - A, B, C & D.   Part A - is covered by the government; Part B is a payment taken out of Social Security payments. Although there is a timeframe to join Medicare after turning 65, a person can stay on a business plan if still working. Once one is retired, however, there is a window to get on Medicare without penalty.  Tracy told us how Medicare Advantage plans can provide more benefits such as dental and vision, gym membership and other benefits.  She also described the difference between HMO and PPO plans.  Hopefully, we can have Tracey back to provide us with more information about how Medicare works.
